The company Schmitt GmbH is a family-owned business that was established in 1980 - it was founded by Paul Schmitt. Since 1997 his son Norbert Schmitt has been working in the company and in 2001 he became a member of management. In 1999 the brand name Ergo-Schnitt was born - the result of a product development. Since then, the development of products for demanding users has continuously been worked towards. Ergo-Schnitt products are developed by testing them in the field. Work-safety and high demands on quality are two firmly established requirements for the development of new products. According to standards, the quality and practical viability of this is constantly tested and confirmed by relevant institutions.
Firmly mounted to the pole on the brush cutter and yet flexible. When working in open areas, the protective basket is folded back and secured with a splint. When approaching trees, walls, barriers, street posts for instance, ..., the hoop guard is placed over the cutting blade and also secured with the splint. This means that tools, trees, walls, ... are protected. The foldable edge and bark protection can be attached to brush cutters and/or grass trimmers with a shank diameter of 24 mm - 36 mm (0.94 in - 1.42 in).
foldable edge and bark protector 285, Suitable for cutting tools with an external Ø of 250 mm (9,84 in) and 255 mm (10 in).
foldable edge and bark protector 330, Suitable for cutting tools with aan external Ø of 300 mm (11,81 in) and 305 mm (12,01 in).
foldable edge and bark protector 430, Suitable für nylon heads. The cutting edge must be mounted on the shock protection!
With the new Ergo-Schnitt Ergo 270 hand-saw, you get a lot more enjoyment out of sawing, as this hand saw offers you a whole range of benefits. Thanks to the ergonomically designed, anti-slip grip, the saw sits very easily in your hand. Therefore, sawing is always safe, quick and effective. The slightly curved saw blade made from tried and tested Japanese SK4 steel is coated with hard chrome and the teeth are induction hardened. Due to these properties, the user has a saw with a very long lifetime which provides a clean cut in fresh, soft or also hard and dry wood. This has been confirmed after the practical and precisely KWF-check with the FPA-label „professional“.
The saw can, thanks to a hollow in the grip, be securely clipped into and stored in the holder. This is perfect for all tree-climbers, as you won‘t lose your saw when your are working. The saw slipping out of the holder is impossible, despite it being able to be removed simply by the user. Thanks to the practical belt loop the Ergo 270 can always be transported easily.
The saw has a 270 mm long blade with a medium tooth width (8 teeth per 30 mm). The saw only weighs 160 grams, the holder weighs 121 grams. That means that the saw is only 281 grams in total.
Overview of the details:
ergonomically-designed, anti-slip hand grip
slender, slightly-curved blade for fine ramifications
270 mm long blade with medium tooth width (8 teeth per 30 mm)
blade made from Japanese SK4 steel, coated in hard chrome
For cutting (mowing) grass and plant growth with a thickness of up to 25 mm (0.98 in). No strong air currents are created and fine grass cuttings are not blown about, they are just gathered and cut. The 40 cutting teeth with an 11° clearance angle offer a minimal contact surface for any objects that may be lying aroung so that these aren‘t slung away. This has been confirmed by tests by different testing institutes such as the German Agricultural Society (DLG), the German Inspection Agency for Country and Forestry Technology (DPLF) and the German Board for Forestry Technology (KWF).Due to the unique structure of the grass cutting safety blade, the operating energy (rotational speed) can be reduced or increased according to the quantity of the grass to be mowed. This means that weak vegetation = low number of revolutions = lower energy outlay = lower noise levels. With 40 cutters on the roatry, the cutting sequence is very high and the grass is not wound up. Eight stablisation boreholes prevent material vibrations from occuring in the interior of the cutter bar on contact with stationary objects.
The Ergo-Schnitt telescopic rods are made from glass fibre braid (GFB) covered with a layer of resin. The material offers 5 x higher resistance against breaking compared with aluminium. No corrosion occurs to the GFB and it is very low wear-and-tear. GFB does not conduct electricity when it is clean and dry. This has been confirmed and certified by an accredited inspection laboratory. Ergo-Schnitt telescopic bars can be steplessly set to any height. A tensile strength of 75 kg is attained via an eccentric lever which can be set with the opposite nut (left handed thread). The saw blade is made from time-proven Japanese SK5 steel. The rows of teeth are induction hardened and every fifth tooth has a special position so that the dust is removed from the cut more easily. Medium tooth width (8 teeth on 30 mm (1.18 in)) for universal use in fresh, soft, hard and dry wood.
