Generally speaking, every tree is transplantable. But looking at individual trees we must concede that success in tree transplanting depends on factors like size, location, vitality, season etc.. After having assessed the tree, the arborist of DGG international will select the appropriate tree spade for each particular job.
Some features of Optimal tree spades are unique. For instance, when transplanting low branched trees, perfect branches often have to be cut off only to fit the machine. However, when working with an Optimal 2500 you don't have to maim that tree. It can fold out its spades thus avoiding the lower branches. Or, with Optimal tree spades the reinforcing ribs are welded to the outside of the blades. With this design the spade does not cause damage to the root ball.
Smaller trees and shrubs can be transplanted with nursery spades. These implements can be attached to a suitable power unit at the site. Specimen trees up to a girth of 150 cm are moved with spades ranging from Optimal 1700 to Optimal 3000. These units are mounted on off-road trucks. A safe and gentle tree transport is granted even when long distances on public roads are involved.
