Wash and Waste Water
bio-algeen WKL Concentrate is a liquid product for the treatment of organically polluted water. The sulphide precipitation, that causes the water to turn black and starts the emission of Hydrogen Sulphide and Mercaptane gases, is blocked.
The treated water has a light colour. The storage basins, holding large quantities of black, oderous water, become clear and odourless shortly after treatment.
Some of the typical characteristics in the use of bio-algeen WKL Concentrate are as follows:
The fast separating and dropping out of fine particles in the transport / wash water systems of sugar and starch factories, the prevention of maloderous emissions from the acid anaerobic breakdown of organic matter in the sludge from dredging operations and in the sugar, starch and canning industries. The new structures in the treated sludge makes it possible for a fast, self greening, in the dumping areas.
Also heavy metals in the sludge are, for the most part, inactivated due to the ion exchange capacity of the product. Although the plants that grow on the treated sludge dumping areas absorb these heavy metals, the herbivores that eat the plants cannot store these metals in their bodies, they are excreted.
With the use of the product, the biological clarification of organically polluted water is optimised. When a surplus of metal ions are contained in the waste water they are removed so allowing an uninterrupted biological clarification process.
