Max Holder GmbH presents its new entry-level model, the Holder X 45, at the GaLaBau in Nuremberg. With the completely redeveloped articulated vehicle, the Germany-based full-liner confirms its claim to offer municipalities, service providers and industry a system vehicle in every performance class that can be used all year round for the toughest requirements.

As successor to the Holder X 30, the Holder X 45 brings an ambitious range of functionality and numerous innovations to the 45 HP class. One of the key features includes the choice of engine. The X 45 is not only available with a diesel engine but also with a petrol engine, whereby Holder already now provides an efficient and strong response to the problem of particulate matter in many cities. The two high torque units deliver 42 (diesel) or 44 HP (petrol) and are designed for high performance at low rotation speeds. A maximum speed of 27 km/h makes the X 45 the fastest machine in the segment. Another superb feature worth mentioning is the carrying capacity. Up to 1025 kg payload and 2300 kg total permissible weight represent the top in this class. Thanks to a permanent all-wheel drive and a very low centre of gravity, the Holder X 45 safely brings its power to the road any time.

The intelligent dynamic drive control enables automatic control of the drive pump in relation to load and speed, thus guaranteeing ideal traction irrespective of the incline. The core applications (sweeping, mowing, irrigation and winter maintenance) can be easily selected via a programme switch. Depending on the application, this automatically ensures demand-driven hydraulic power and provides excellent work results. With two independently controllable hydraulic circuits (20 + 58 l/min), the Holder X 45 has a very high hydraulic output.

The engineers put particular importance to the design and equipment of the driver's cab. It is not only the most spacious cab in its class, but also sets standards in terms of comfort and user friendliness. Some of the key features include an adjustable multifunction armrest at the air-suspended driver's seat, a large Holder joystick for comfortable one-handed operation, exits to the right and left, sliding windows, as well as effective sound insulation. Numerous optional comfort and safety equipment creates possibilities for customisation, e.g. a camera system combined of rear and suction nozzle camera.

The most widely used application in this segment is sweeping. For sweeping Holder provides a sweeping machine which is perfectly matched to the carrier vehicle and boasts numerous highlights. As is typical with Holder, high-quality attachments for the key year-round applications are also included in the range.

The new multifunctional articulated implement carrier Holder C 65 is the latest addition to the 2011 launched Holder C series and is closely related to the still relatively new C 70. The system vehicle which is either available with one-person cab (C 65 SC) or two-person cab (C 65 TC) was launched to the market in spring 2018.

As a member of the same model series, the C 65 has many features in common with the C 70. For instance, it complies with the European exhaust gas emissions standard Stage IIIB and the American variant Tier 4 final. The engine power is identical at 65 HP. The comfort cab can be installed at three heights depending on the application requirement and always provides an optimal 360-degree panoramic view for enhanced safety. The innovative equipment in this vehicle class such as an inner mudguard for protection against dirt ingress, an electronic hand and foot pedal, as well as a digital combination display for displaying different vehicle functions, are also on board the C 65.

Of course, the driver does not have to forego the advantages of all Holder system vehicles, e.g. manoeuvrability, directional stability, multifunctionality and exceptional working and operating comfort. The C 65 also possesses the hydraulic wheel load compensation, mechanical differential locks, as well as a mechanical front PTO and 3D front lift. The differences to the C 70 can generally be found in the hydrostatic permanent all-wheel drive and in the driving modes. Overall, municipal and commercial users find a high-quality partner in the Holder C 65 for all day-to-day challenges suitable for use all year round.

The broad range of attachments for the Holder MUVO is being reinforced. At the GaLaBau from 12.-15. September 2018, Holder presents the compact municipal all-rounder with Heatweed hot water weed control.

The Holder MUVO is a powerful, compact municipal vehicle for multifunctional use. The vehicle has a powerful 109 HP (80 kW) engine, a stepless hydrostatic drive and reaches in the EURO 6 version an optimal transport speed of 60 km/h. For maximum manoeuvrability, the vehicle can be steered as needed via a two-wheel, four-wheel or diagonal steering. It can be used in green maintenance, street cleaning and winter service as well as - thanks to its high payload of 2.8 tonnes - for special transport tasks. Efficient hydraulics, electronic speed control, a comfortable two-person cabin with air conditioning and the service-friendly design make the Holder MUVO a competent companion in tough all-year-round use.

With the worldwide patented, sensor-controlled Heatweed hot water technology Holder now extends the range of use of the MUVO by the most economical and effective solution for sustainable and environmentally friendly weed control. A sensor mounted on the front of the Heatweed Sensor 2.0 series detects weeds and then accurately sprays individual plants with hot water. Thanks to the Active Temperature Regulation (ATR), the water hits the plant root at a constant temperature, achieving the greatest possible effect. Any areas without weed growth are left untreated. This ensures the lowest possible water consumption as well as low fuel consumption and low exhaust emissions. The Sensor 2.0 can be mounted on implement carriers from different manufacturers and is operated via a digital display from the cab.

Compared with other technologies, the sensor greatly increases the areal capacity treated every day. Tests as well as customer experience have shown that 17,000 to 35,000 m² can be covered per day, which translates to the treatment of approximately 420 hectares per season. This assumes a treatment frequency of three times per year. Due to its large capacity, the sensor is particularly suitable for cities with more than 20,000 inhabitants and for large contractors.

Good sweepers have predominantly been single-purpose vehicles, as attachment solutions were unable to match the specialists. The KS 1200 sweeping machine developed specifically for Holder is setting new standards in this field. It comes with many innovative functions that make the driver's working life much easier. The suction hose running down the side of the vehicle states a significant advantage – the ease of accessibility means that it can be used as fully integrated manual suction. This design also ensures a much easier maintenance and cleaning of the suction hose. The asymmetrical sweeping brush and the aerodynamically optimised suction nozzle provide excellent cleaning results.

The hopper is made of high-performance stainless steel and has a gross volume of 1200 litres. Combined with the smart water recirculation system, the water remains in the container if it is tipped, ensuring a high reach. The sweeping width is 1900 mm in the standard version and can be extended by a third brush.

The KS 1200 is perfectly aligned with Holder's mid-range implement carriers (50 to 67 HP). Its narrow design and agile articulated steering enable narrow pavements and park paths, large car parks and entire residential and industrial areas to be cleaned efficiently. The KS 1200 has also been designed to run extremely quietly.

Here too, the Holder System is consistently designed to be multifunctional – the sweeper-suction combination can be converted into a full-sized mowing-machine in under five minutes and without changing the container. A high-pressure cleaner for cleaning the vehicle or difficult-to-reach objects is also integrated.

The new Holder S series comprises the models S 100 (100 HP), S 115 (115 HP) and S 130 (130 HP) and is designed for applications in which the demands on man and machine are enormously high.

The unprecedented engine power combined with the mechanical front PTO and up to 120 litre hydraulic power make the Holder S series the most powerful articulated tractor on the market. Highly effective working hydraulics with three separate hydraulic attachment drives and two proportional functions that can be operated simultaneously ensure possible maximum power and flexibility on the attachment. Perfect work results are also guaranteed thanks to the three-dimensional front lift, the hydraulic weight compensation and the electronic load limit control. Thanks to the low speed and the larger torque range, the fuel consumption as well as the vibrations and noise level are reduced considerably.

A permanent all-wheel drive, mechanical axle drive with variable force distribution between front and rear axle, dual drive, hydrostatic wheel load compensation and the 100% mechanical differential lock at both axles round off the powerful package by granting maximum safety and ground contact. Other well-known benefits of the Holder system vehicles, such as manoeuvrability and directional stability as well as the exceptional working and operating comfort, are of course still in place. New features include the touch display for operating all hydraulic functions and the LED lighting.

The spacious suspended comfort cab with air conditioning, 360° panoramic view, air-suspended driver's seat and adjustable armrest has a unique functional concept. It is available as a single-seat cab with extra storage space, as a two-seat cab with a fully equipped passenger seat or as a single-seat cab with adjustable and rotatable seat, which can be put into optimal position on the job.

Like all Holder vehicles, the new Holder S series is multifunctional. In just a few steps the machine can be equipped with the appropriate attachments, for example for winter maintenance, sweeping or lawn care. The vehicle is especially attractive for applications where the requirements of man and machine are enormously high, for example at airports or in winter sports regions.

In January 2018, the new Holder S series replaced its predecessor S 990 / S 1090, which is no longer available in Europe due to the European exhaust-gas legislation.
