Jim McAdam | CEO
Multihog CEO, Jim McAdam, spent a large part of his career as Managing Director of Moffett Ltd, the reverse-drive tractor & forklift manufacturer. A trained engineer, he was pivotal in the development of the very successful Moffett Mounty truck-mounted forklift, which has sold over 70,000 units worldwide to date. After the successful sale of Moffett Ltd. Jim established Multihog in 2008, & much of the vehicle’s incredible evolution since then can be attributed to his knowledge & expertise in innovation.
Gerry McHugh | Technical Director
Multihog’s technical director, Gerry McHugh, also began his career as an engineer with Moffett Ltd., before taking over as Managing Director of Aisle-Master Ltd. There he led the development of the narrow aisle forklift, a machine which can increase warehouse capacity by up to 50% thanks to its ability to work within incredibly tight spaces. Since joining Multihog in 2010, Gerry has been instrumental in fine-tuning our product range thanks to his passion for quality and keen eye for detail.
Multihog is currently the only Irish manufacturer to produce a self-propelled product from zero which has full European type approval (homologation). Vehicles manufactured by Multihog which are type approved conform to the European Regulation EU 167/2013.
Type approval provides confidence for both customers and operators, that a Multihog vehicle has conformed to strict safety regulations.
For the operator, it ensures that they are driving a safe, comfortable and ergonomic machine. For Multihog customers (public-facing bodies who are normally concerned with public safety), it reassures them that a Multihog tractor operating in a public space has passed rigorous safety tests and is less likely to be involved in an accident.
Type approval also makes it easier for dealers and customers to register the vehicles with local authorities, as it provides proof that stringent safety regulations have been complied with.
Multihog’s newest product, the multipurpose CV sweeper, has, in addition to EU type approval, spent time in Germany undergoing industry-standard testing in relation to suction performance.
EUnited is the European body responsible for sweeper testing and measures the quantity of particulate matter in the clean air expelled by a sweeper in a controlled environment. This is important for public safety and air quality, as sweepers normally operate in congested urban environments.
The test involves two parts, the first test relates to particles which are max. 10 microns, and the second relates to particles which are max. 2.5 microns in size.
In both tests, the Multihog CV achieved 4 stars, the highest possible rating.
The company is both ISO 9001 and VCA Conformity of Production certified. Multihog operates a lean manufacturing process, which results in higher quality product output, streamlined throughflow and increased cost savings.
