braun-steine’s concrete stones are regionally manufactured in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg, which guarantees quick transport routes, steady availability and independence from suppliers in other countries. Being able to offer creative and durable stone systems using regionally sourced raw materials is an important task to braun-steine. To do so, the company tests unusual materials from the surrounding area, then modifies stone aggregates and combines them into a whole new creation.

FONDA is the latest addition to the product range. Thousands of years of deep rock and shimmering muscovite and river sands from southwest Germany give this paving stone its vibrancy and refined shine, thanks to a fine-blasted finish achieved through so-called patination, an energy-saving process for the highest demands on particularly resilient surfaces.

This new stone is available in the formats 30/15, 45/15 and 60/30, at a stone thickness of 8 cm each. The edges are additionally chamfered. On request, the elegant surface is protected from dirt with an innovative Clean Save 3D surface protection agent. The core contains 25% recycled concrete, which saves raw materials and energy whilst contributing to a circular economy. It’s this combination of different finishing processes that brings out the best in the raw materials used. The FONDA paving stone’s lively surface exudes a timeless aesthetic.

Finest wood grains, cosy colour tones and classic laying patterns – with braun-steine’s MAHORA PARKETTDIELEN, you can get all the benefits that come with indoor parquet flooring in your outdoor space. While wood changes its shape and colour over time as a result of weather conditions, MAHORA PARKETTDIELEN remain durable and true to colour and shape, making them ideal for outdoor use. Made of cast concrete, delicate wood grains, knotholes and indentations can be reproduced true to the original, giving the floorboard a noble, authentic look. The new colour Umbra (Latin: umbra = shadow) demonstrates this effect particularly well. This warm, earthy brown tone gives a natural shimmer and shadow effect to the fine wood structure. Depending on the sunlight, you always get slightly different, appealing effects.

The 890 x 250 mm and 1000 x 200 mm format tiles, also available in ash and bog oak, open a wide variety of parquet combinations – from the classic row pattern and ship floor to a more retro style herringbone pattern. Thanks to the stone thickness of 45 mm, the parquet floorboards can be laid simply and safely using conventional installation techniques on a levelled bed of stone chippings. Complex and expensive substructures that commonly come with wooden flooring are now a thing of the past. There’s also no need to oil and paint, as you would a wooden surface. The lifelike MAHORA surfaces already come with the innovative Clean Save 3D surface protection agent. Of course, you can combine these parquet floorboards with other products from the MAHORA range: from rustic floorboards to parquet flooring, you can achieve a customised, creative open space design with a wooden aesthetic.

One of society’s most exciting yet pressing future issues is how to deal with rainwater in public spaces. Measures to make cities more climate-friendly include retention, unsealing and infiltration. The organic braun-steine ARENA RASEN- UND DRAINFUGENSTEIN and the linear LÄNGSRASENFUGENSTEIN help unseal surfaces, proving to open space planners that ecology, creative design and resilience are not mutually exclusive. Spacers with additional spacer elements enable different joint widths within a surface, all of which are equally equipped to handle traffic loads.

How? The additional spacer cams on the spacers provide a firm grip whilst also acting as extra laying support for the laying turf joints. Joint stones are primarily intended for structural purposes. With braun-steine’s interlocking system, they become a creative, ecological design highlight, allowing flowing transitions from planted trickle joints to pavements that are durable enough for lorries to drive on.
