The association Garten-, Landschafts- und Sportplatzbau Bayern e. V. was founded in Ingolstadt on 14/12/1963 as Fachverband bayerischer Landschaftsgärtner e. V. (Trade Association of Bavarian Landscape Gardeners).
It was the first independent association of commercial landscaping companies in West Germany after World War II.
An initially small group of gardening and landscaping companies is now composed of over 600 members. The association thus represents the best performing specialist companies in this industry in the Free State of Bavaria.
The member companies employ between 3 and 200 people.
Membership is restricted to specialist companies that have demonstrated their professional qualification in the field of structural and vegetation engineering services in gardening, landscaping and sports ground construction.
