ZORN INSTRUMENTS stands for state-of-the-art manufacturing in the field of testing and measuring technology as well as custom manufacturing in the milling and turning sector. We have a wealth of experience spanning 150 years, enabling us to combine technical innovation with many years of refinement. All mechanical components of our Light Weight Deflectometers and further high precise measuring instruments are manufactured entirely in our factory. We are developer, designer and manufacturer.

ZORN in the field

The Light Weight Deflectometer (ZFG) allows fast and reliable testing of the bearing capacity of compacted soils in in-house and/or third-party monitoring. No additional equipment is required for the dynamic plate load test. Testing during ongoing construction site operations as well as in adverse weather conditions is easily and quickly possible.

ZORN in the laboratory

We also offer dynamic variants of well-known laboratory tests for testing the mechanical load capacity of soils and mineral mixtures. In addition to the dynamic ZORN CBR (laboratory) we developed e.g. a modified plate load test with the ZORN LAB for the determination of the dynamic deformation modulus on classical proctor specimens.

ZORN Calibration

Test equipment should work reliably. In order to do so, they must be regularly maintained and calibrated. ZORN INSTRUMENTS is a calibration laboratory recognized by the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) for the Light Weight Deflectometer according to test standard TP BF-StB Part B 8.4. On request we also calibrate according to Austrian standard RVS 08.03.04.
