Our mission and vision

It is our vision is to be one of the leading turf grass specialists, dedicated to a sustainable future. We consider it our mission to drastically reduce the amount of chemical products used in the professional sports turf industry. We aim to achieve this by offering more natural, reliable and sustainable alternatives to the traditionally chemical products, enabling our customers to get better results while reducing their environmental impact.

Less chemicals
By reducing the amount of chemicals applied to the surface of the earth, we not only lessen pollution but also create a stronger, healthier and more durable plant that will require less chemical products in the future.

Water use reduction
Some of our products can make a significant contribution to a more sustainable water management program. In the future, the availability of good quality water will continue to decrease, which requires us to use our water more wisely, efficiently if you will. We have products that can manage the water levels in the top layer of the soil, resulting in a reduction of water needed by up to 30%.

Research & development
By continuously investing in research and development of current and new products, we remain dedicated to finding sustainable ways to support both the soil and the plants it grows. Organically supporting the natural environment is key in this process.

Education
We strive to inform and accommodate professionals in various professional sports turf such as golf and football, to significantly reduce the use of chemicals on their grass, and replace these chemical products with more natural products. We aim to continuously educate professionals in the field about new product developments as well as relevant upcoming changes in legislation. In doing so, these professionals increase and support the natural development of the plants in question. This way of supporting nature, provides a sustainable solution, as the durability of the plant increased due to its better health.

Verde-Cal G

Verde-Cal G is a Calcium Sulfate (gypsum) combined with thCa™, an organic complexing agent. This enhanced gypsum is used to make Calcium (Ca) more readily available for soil and plant and it can do this without effecting or raising the pH. Verde-Cal G will dissolve quickly in water and will help the plant.

Application Rates

For continued optimum growing conditions, apply Verde-Cal G at 250 kg per hectare monthly through the growing season, or as needed. Soil test recommendations should be followed.

To correct high sodium or magnesium levels or to loosen clay soils, apply Verde-Cal G at 500 kg per hectare once or twice per growing season, or as needed. A follow up soil test is recommended and reapply, if needed, at optimal growing condition rate.

To correct high sodium levels on Greens and Tees or when using effluent water, apply Verde-Cal G at 400 kg per hectare every month during the growing season.

Specialty fertilisers

In the product category Specialty Fertiliser, Aqua-Aid offers two other calcium products. Verde-Cal is a limestone product based on calciumcarbonate. Verde-Cal F is a calciumsulfate better known as gypsum.

How does it work?

The soil colloid has degrees of affinity for various basic cations. This bonding increases with larger atomic weight, ion size and amount of charge. The percentage saturation for each of the cations will usually be within the following ranges for optimum performance.

The process of cationic exchange begins when water and basic cations (Ca, Mg, K, Na) meet the soil colloid. Based on the soil colloid’s degree of cation affinity, Calcium (Ca) will attach to the soil colloid releasing the smaller cations. The released cations (Mg++, Na+, K+, H+) are solubilized in the soil solution and made available to the plant or removed from the soil profile. As hydrogen is released from the soil colloid into the soil solution, acidity is reduced and pH is raised.
