It has been designed to be extremely robust, lightweight, twist-resistant – through a five-chamber ‘R’ profile – and easy-to-use. But how did this all start?

Our company was founded in 1889, but we had already obtained our first patent three years previously for a spring-loaded joint designed for use in folding rules. This ingenious invention, which is still considered to be a state-of-the-art development even today, was the brainchild of Anton Ullrich – an inventor from the Palatinate region of Germany with an entrepreneurial spirit. In the space of just a few years, he had successfully established a major company in the small town of Annweiler. Ever since then, we here at STABILA have specialised in making measuring and aligning tools. We work tirelessly to support trade professionals with an unwavering commitment, focusing on providing innovative and application-specific solutions.
