High-precision testing technology for the dynamic plate load test to determine the deformation modulus Evd
The dynamic plate load test is a rapid test for determining the load-bearing capacity of compacted materials in earthworks, foundation engineering and road construction. It is used to verify the suitability of soils and subsoils (e.g. fill layers) as foundation soil and enables the user to immediately assess the compaction quality of placed layers. And this already during the paving operation.
As a standard test, the test performed with the ZFG Light Weight Deflectometer is used today in all areas of traffic route construction. It does not matter whether soils are compacted by hand-operated rammers and vibratory plates or by mobile road rollers. With a ZFG 3000 or the ZFG 3.1 from ZORN, you are always in a position to check the quality of the compaction work quickly and reliably.
For broadband expansion, we offer the ZORN Mini, which with its narrow load plate and lower height is excellent for testing soil compaction in narrow trenches.
The safe and uniform use of the testing device, which is also often referred to as "drop plate", is regulated in Germany in particular by the Technical Test Specification for Soil and Rock in Road Construction (TP BF-StB) Part B 8.3, in conjunction with the Additional Technical Contract Conditions and Guidelines for Earthworks in Road Construction (ZTV-E StB).
ZORN INSTRUMENTS also operates several calibration stands for the Light Weight Deflectometer. The first calibration stand was developed by us for the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) and was the first of its kind to be approved by the technical authority.
