Facade greening – an underestimated multi tool in green infrastructure

A facade greenery gives a dull house wall a very special charm and sets soothing accents in contrast to stone facades with glass and metal. Furthermore, such vertical gardens have been proven to improve the microclimate. Additionally, they provide a habitat for many animals. Other positive aspects of facade greening are the shading of the facades, the reflection of sunlight and thus a reduced heating of the building. But why are the effects of facade greening still underestimated?
