ZACHO hot air systems operate with a patented turbo blower that applies hot air at high speed to the weeds. The drawn-in air is heated in one or two combustion chambers to up to 800 °C and blown onto the weeds. The high air speed and the associated turbulence ensure extremely rapid and effective heat transfer down to ground level. This also renders the weed seeds non-viable, giving the application a preventive character. Despite the high temperatures, the design of the system ensures minimal fire risk.
