Autonomous garbage removal on unpaved surfaces
In our Newcomer series, we introduce you to various exhibitors at our joint stand Young Innovators. Today we present: Angsa Robotics
Most of Angsa Robotics’ customers are communities of all sizes. But the devices for autonomous garbage removal from the Munich company are also suited for use in event areas, outdoor facilities of resorts, amusement parks, and hotels, and for open-air swimming pools. Bilal Tariq, one of the two CEOs of Angsa Robotics, describes their company’s concept.
“First of all, I would like to explain why we describe the Angsa Robotics cleaning robots as autonomous,” says Bilal Tariq. “Our devices flexibly choose the best path on the surface that has to be cleaned – no matter whether it is on grass, gravel, or cobblestone. They automatically detect and avoid any obstacles and people in their way. For conventional robot mowers, you have to bury wires in the ground that can then be used as a recognizable border for the robot. This is not necessary with our devices. Our robots receive GPS signal and can therefore be installed quickly and easily on almost any outdoor surface.
Artificial Intelligence plays a key role in Angsa Robotics’ products. Bilal Tariq explains: “Several sensors scan the area under the device. They can detect and suck in even the smallest parts of garbage – up to the size of a cigarette packet. The system learns automatically and only picks up actual garbage. Leaves and other biological matter as well as pebbles remain. And additional security sensors reliably detect any obstacles.”
The Angsa Robotics cleaning robots are robust against the effects of weather and soil conditions. They can take up to 30 litres of garbage. Depending on the conditions, the battery lasts up to 8 hours.
Angsa Robotics was founded in 2020; the now 29-year-old Bilal Tariq has been part of the company’s history from the start. “I grew up around Munich and have both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the technical university of Munich. At Angsa Robotics, I am responsible for sales and customer service.” Their most important sponsor Husqvarna significantly supports the development of their product and sales structures. The Swedish manufacturer of motorised devices for forestry, gardening, and landscaping became an investor in Angsa Robotics in 2023.
Today, there are five German communities that use the cleaning robots by Angsa Robotics. The company is currently looking for further business relations. Bilal Tariq hopes that exhibiting at GaLaBau in Nuremberg will increase their publicity across Europe.
Angsa Robotics is one of the exhibitors at the joint stand Young Innovators. This area is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and can be found in Hall 3C. NürnbergMesse offers companies in the International StartUp Area special conditions for participating in GaLaBau, the leading International Trade Fair for Urban Green and Open Spaces (www.galabau-messe.com/en). The fair takes place from 11 – 14 September 2024.
