Off to the “Middle Kingdom” with NürnbergMesse: Greenery & Landscaping China entices the industry to Shanghai
The gardening and landscaping and the landscape architecture sectors are growing rapidly in China. As the number of inhabitants in Chinese towns and cities continues to rise, it is not only many new homes which are being constructed. There has also been an increase in the level of investment in green spaces and recreational facilities. One of the most important business platforms for Chinese decision-makers, who plan, construct and maintain private and communal gardens, parks, open spaces, sports facilities and playgrounds, is Greenery & Landscaping China. This year, the trade fair will take place from 7th to 9th June in the Shanghai World Expo Convention & Exhibition Center. More than 8,000 trade visitors are expected. A top-class congress with international speakers as well as a professionally organized delegation trip will make participating in the exhibition an attractive proposition for both German and European exhibitors as well as all other players in the sector in equal measure.
From 7 to 9 June 2017, the Shanghai World Expo Convention & Exhibition Center (SWEECC) will be transformed into a meeting place for China’s green professionals. Decision-makers from China, who plan, construct and maintain gardens, parks, open spaces, sports facilities, playgrounds and golf courses, will then be informing themselves at Greenery & Landscaping China about the latest products and services. From 2017, NürnbergMesse China will be the organizer of this trade fair. This event has already existed since 2003 under another name and is now being developed further together with the founding father, the Shanghai Landscape Architecture and Gardening Trade Association (SLAGTA). The event’s cycle is annual, this year 200 international exhibitors are expected. We asked Darren Guo, Managing Director NürnbergMesse China, among other things why European firms are benefiting from participating at the fair.
After four successful trade fair days, the 22nd GalaBau came to a close on 17 September in Nuremberg: exactly 64.1381 trade visitors travelled to the event to inform themselves about products and trends for planning, construction and maintenance with greenery. The increased internationality of the trade fair is encouraging. In this connection, in terms of exhibitors, this time around almost every fourth company was international. Compared with the previous event, the increase in internationality here was 10 %. On the visitors’ side every 10th visitor came to late-summer Nuremberg from abroad, among others from Austria, Poland and Italy. Stefan Dittrich, Director Exhibitions GaLaBau, said he was satisfied and concluded: “The mood at GaLaBau 2016 was simply splendid: full halls and intensive sales discussions. GaLaBau has once again fully lived up to its name as the green sector’s meeting place.” This time, 1.3201 companies exhibited in increased space in a total of 13 exhibition halls.
From 14 to 17 September 2016, GaLaBau, International Trade Fair for Urban Green and Open Spaces, was held at the exhibition centre Nuremberg. The GaLaBau PR Team made its way around the exhibition halls and asked several exhibitors how successful the fair had been for them:
