Smart System for Digital Device Management
In our Newcomer series, we introduce you to various exhibitors at our joint stand Young Innovators. Today we present: zamics
Christian Marx is responsible for the business development of the Berlin company zamics. Together with Anna Hudalla, responsible for product development, he manages the young start-up that offers a smart system for efficient device management on construction sites.
“For our stand at the GaLaBau trade fair in Nuremberg, we have come up with something special,” says Christian Marx, giving a sneak peek of the fair in autumn. “Visitors can try our device management tool live at the fair. And we are preparing a so-called starter box. It contains different transponders and a code for logging in to our internet platform. This way, landscape gardeners can easily test our products for one month once they are back home. Completely free of charge, of course.”
Keyword transponder. How does zamics’ device management work? Christian Marx explains: “Our system is compatible with most transponder technologies. Devices like excavators, vibrating plates, and lawn mowers can be identified via different methods like NFC (tiny chips), Bluetooth or GPS. Even QR codes can be used.”
When using zamics, all these technologies can be combined deliberately. In the end, landscapers can see all registered information about a connected device at one glance. They can then manage them in an app or on their computer. For example, they can change the site of operation, assign a device to a person and attach important documents like inspection reports.
“The advantages of our product are obvious,” Christian Marx is convinced. “We provide a digital identity for our clients’ machines and devices. Our software connects all registered and integrated devices to a user-friendly system. This means that users always have the full overview over which machines and devices are in use on which construction site – and when the next maintenance or check is due.”
The 32-year-old Christian Marx grew up and went to school in the Upper Palatinate region about 100 km east of Nuremberg. He obtained a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in business information systems from the University of Potsdam and also gained further qualifications in Design Think-ing. “At first, I stayed at the university as a research assistant, working as a start-up consultant for three years. In January 2022, I joined zamics.”
The company zamics has been active since 2021. It is a founding venture by the Zeppelin Lab in Berlin. As the name suggests, these organizations belong to the Zeppelin Group in Munich, which is primarily known for selling and renting large construction machinery.
zamics is one of the exhibitors at the joint stand Young Innovators. This area is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and can be found in Hall 3C. NürnbergMesse offers companies in the International StartUp Area special conditions for participating in GaLaBau, the leading International Trade Fair for Urban Green and Open Spaces (www.galabau-messe.com/en). The fair takes place from 11 – 14 September 2024.
