Street Furniture Objects with a Promising Future
In our Newcomer series, we introduce you to various exhibitors at our joint stand Young Innovators. Today we present: FLEXDEX
For Susanne Mossal-Wagner, having proper sports and recreational facilities in Germany today and in the future is very important. This is why she is a passionate and active volunteer in IAKS, the International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities based in Cologne. But her main focus is on her young company FLEXDEX, a company that produces and sells flexibly usable, terrace-like platforms. These platforms aim to promote exercise and education, make cities greener and bring people together to create greener, more vibrant, liveable, and active urban spaces.
“I have always loved exercising,” says Susanne Mossal-Wagner. “I enjoy playing tennis, horseback riding, doing yoga, and hiking.” After graduating from high school in Trier, the 49-year-old studied industrial design at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. Founding her company FLEXDEX based in Bonn in January 2023 allowed her to combine both interests in the best possible way.
“The modular system was designed by me and is based on different basic forms,” Susanne Mossal-Wagner describes her idea. “They are very flexible because you can choose the amounts and combine different forms.” FLEXDEX can be installed anywhere, wherever the need arises – for a limited amount of time or as a permanent offer. What makes it special, however, is its mobility: The modules can be quickly and easily repositioned with the aid of a lifting cart or a forklift. The product can be used inside as well as outside.
“FLEXDEX as a design-protected system with naming rights is very flexible,” Susanne Mossal-Wagner adds. “It can be used in public spaces, on green areas, in hospitals, in sports or other clubs as well as in senior, care, or educational facilities, but also in companies, in residential complexes, amusement parks, hotels, and in schoolyards.”
By now, Susanne Mossal-Wagner has developed several square, circular, semi-circular, and hexagonal modules. “I will be happy to present my product range and its possible applications to interested trade visitors at GaLaBau in Nuremberg,” Susanne Mossal-Wagner announces. “I will also show that you do not need to do any earthworks or lay any foundations for FLEXDEX. Plus, no fall protection is necessary. You only need an even, loadable surface to immediately start using FLEXDEX.”
What is also important to Susanne Mossal-Wagner: “All my products are exclusively made in Germany; I try to keep transport routes as short as possible and use honest materials that are as environmentally friendly as possible. The reduction to a few materials such as cork, wood and (stainless) steel creates products with a long service life, low maintenance needs, and high recyclability – and a low carbon footprint.”
FLEXDEX is one of the exhibitors at the joint stand Young Innovators. This area is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and can be found in Hall 3C. NürnbergMesse offers companies in the International StartUp Area special conditions for participating in GaLaBau, the leading International Trade Fair for Urban Green and Open Spaces (www.galabau-messe.com/en). The fair takes places from 11 – 14 September 2024.
