At its core, Ballistol is a family-owned business based in Aham, Lower Bavaria, which has been run by brothers Dr. Christian and Andreas Zettler since 2006. The brand became well-known thanks to the famous BALLISTOL Universal Oil, which was invented over 120 years ago and is still produced today using the same original formula.

Even more exciting for the gardening industry, however, is what has been added since 2015: Mairol GmbH, now also based in Aham and a major player in the plant fertilizer sector.
