Dakota was established in the early 1980s as a manufacturer specializing in plastic materials for the construction industry. Since then, Dakota has expanded its presence throughout Italy, supported by a comprehensive network of representatives, and internationally to countries such as Romania, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, and North America.

In 2016, Dakota inaugurated a new 14,000 square meter centralized and automated logistics platform. The following year, Dakota launched Dakota Living, a division dedicated to providing comprehensive 360° services and product range for outdoor decking and cladding, indoor flooring, and related accessories.
