- 1. The product arrives as an established, fully rooted perennial plant community ready to install onto prepared ground. This avoids the detailed setting out and individual installation of large numbers of different plant species and reduces the prolonged establishment process associated with pot planting and seed sowing.
- 2. Unlike conventional wildflower mats, the Pictorial Meadows® mats system is not dependent on a vigorous grass matrix. Its high-density plant communities are dominated by flowering perennial species. This reduces competition from spreading grasses and helps retain the diversity, floral abundance and designed character of the meadow over time.
- 3. Each meadow is supplied as a complete, pre-designed plant community. The specialist work of species selection, plant compatibility, composition, planting density, colour balance, flowering succession and climate resilience has already been undertaken.
