From 15 to 18 September 2026, GaLaBau will once again open its gates at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. Around 1,100 exhibitors will showcase products, services and projects related to the planning, construction and maintenance of urban green and open spaces. The exhibition will be complemented by presentations, forums, competitions and special areas focusing on current industry topics. The honorary sponsor of GaLaBau is the Federal Association of Garden, Landscape and Sports Ground Construction (BGL), featuring its presentation “Future Green Living Environments” in Hall 3A/111. NürnbergMesse is the organiser of the event.
GaLaBau 2026 starts tomorrow. For four days, professionals from landscaping, landscape architecture, municipalities, housing companies, industry and trade will come together in Nuremberg. Across 14 exhibition halls and outdoor activity areas, around 1,100 exhibitors will present their latest products, services and innovations. The previous edition in 2024 attracted approximately 66,000 visitors to Nuremberg.
The 26th edition of GaLaBau will be officially opened at the “WELCOME” event by BGL President Thomas Banzhaf, Lord Mayor of Nuremberg Marcus König and science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar (only in German).
Climate Adaptation and Digitalisation in Focus
The key themes of GaLaBau 2026 include climate adaptation, sustainable open-space development, digitalisation and the recruitment of qualified professionals. These topics are reflected both in the exhibition offering and in the supporting programme.
The GREEN-BLUE PATH highlights solutions related to climate adaptation, rainwater management and urban green infrastructure. Guided tours will help visitors discover selected exhibitors and innovative approaches addressing these challenges.
Another major focus is digitalisation in landscaping and garden construction. With the introduction of the new ZUKUNFTSRAUM, GaLaBau 2026 provides a dedicated platform for digital tools, AI applications and modern business processes tailored to companies in the green sector.
Knowledge Exchange and Promotion of Young Talent
Alongside the exhibition, GaLaBau offers an extensive supporting programme. Forums, presentations and discussion formats will address current developments, challenges and practical solutions for the industry.
The industry's latest innovations will also be recognised through the presentation of the GaLaBau Innovation Medal 2026. The award honours technical innovations, pioneering products and innovative processes for landscaping, garden construction and sports ground construction. In 2026, special attention will be given to resource-efficient concepts that contribute to climate adaptation.
In cooperation with the Federal Association of Garden, Landscape and Sports Ground Construction (BGL), the exhibition also places a strong emphasis on promoting young professionals. At the Landscape Gardener Cup, the best apprentices from the regional associations will compete against one another for the title of German Champion in Garden and Landscape Construction. The competition has long been one of the highlights of GaLaBau and provides valuable insights into practical vocational training within the industry.
Shaping the Future of Green Living Environments
The BGL will also present its exhibition stand in Hall 3A/111 under the motto “Future Green Living Environments.” The concept demonstrates how greened buildings and public spaces can be combined to create climate-resilient, water-retaining urban districts and highlights the important role of landscaping professionals in this transformation.
Various thematic stations will explore current industry challenges and illustrate the interaction between water, vegetation and the built environment. The stand will also serve as a meeting point for professional discussions, presentations within the GaLaBau Expert Forum, award ceremonies such as the 10th BGL Education Award, and dialogue on current developments in landscaping and garden construction.

With the opening of the exhibition on 15 September, Nuremberg once again becomes the meeting place for the green industry.
