New weekday schedule from GaLaBau 2026

GaLaBau 2026 will usher in a change that has been requested by both exhibitors and visitors, as the event will then be held on different days of the week. In future, the leading international fair for urban green and open spaces will run from Tuesday to Friday instead of Wednesday to Saturday. There will be no change to the two-year cycle, September timing or four-day duration.

“We believe it is important to announce this major change in good time, to allow participants to reliably plan ahead and to show that we are taking the change requested by exhibitors seriously and implementing it in a timely fashion,” says Stefan Dittrich, Director GaLaBau at NürnbergMesse. “Visitors, especially from gardening and landscaping businesses, will also welcome this change because in future they will no longer have to use up a Saturday to visit the fair.”

“We are confident that the response to this change will be extremely positive and that it will make GaLaBau even stronger for the future,” adds Thomas Banzhaf, President of the BGL (German Association for Gardening, Landscaping and Sports Ground Construction), the honorary sponsor of GaLaBau.

Reasons for new Tuesday to Friday schedule from GaLaBau 2026

The event will no longer include a Saturday, as this is the day that attracts the lowest number of visitors. Instead, GaLaBau 2026 will run from Tuesday 15 September to Friday 18 September. The event will therefore still last four days. This adjustment is in response to an explicit preference by the sector. Exhibitors had spoken out very clearly in favour of a change – “The Saturday has to go!” Among other reasons, this means that when it comes to dismantling their stands, they are not affected by the ban on driving trucks on Sundays. This results in a much more relaxed and less costly scenario for exhibitors. But GaLaBau will also be even more attractive to visitors. International visitors in particular find that their return journey is easier if it can be made before the weekend. The new schedule also ensures a more even distribution of visitors over the four weekdays. More homogeneous visitor numbers are an added benefit to visitors and exhibitors, because they allow for better and more intensive discussion opportunities.

There’s still time to register as an exhibitor at GaLaBau 2024
